Last updated: November 2026 · DD Fun Community Administration

Welcome to the DD Fun Help Center. Below are quick-start guides and answers to the most frequently asked questions about navigating the forum, downloading releases, installing Android ports, and posting content.

1. Navigating Categories & Finding Games

DD Fun organizes releases into specialized category trees so you can find exactly what you want:

  • Games (`/t/games`): PC, Mac, and Linux visual novels and RPGs, divided into Ongoing Games [WIP] and Completed Games [DONE].
  • Ports (`/t/ports`): Handheld and mobile conversions, including Android Ports [MOBILE] and Switch Ports [CONSOLE].
  • Live & Web Games (`/t/live-games`): Games you can play immediately inside your web browser via HTML5, WebGL, or WebAssembly without downloads.
  • AI Games (`/t/ai-games`): Dynamic AI-generated visual novels, companion roleplay sims, and AI art projects.
  • Modifications (`/t/mods`): Uncensor patches, translations, and 100% CG unlocker save files.

2. Android Porting & Installation FAQ

How do I install an Android port?

Download the provided .apk file onto your Android device. Open your device Settings > Security and enable "Install unknown apps" for your browser or file manager. Tap the APK to install.

What is JoiPlay?

JoiPlay is an Android game interpreter that allows playing RPGMaker and HTML-based visual novels without full APK recompilation. Check our Troubleshooting section for step-by-step setup.

3. Where Do Save Files Go?

For Windows visual novels (Ren'Py engine), save files and persistent data are typically stored at:

%APPDATA%/RenPy/<Game_Name_Directory>/
Or directly inside the game folder under /game/saves/.

4. How to Post a New Game or Port

When creating a new discussion for a game release, follow our clean formatting standards:

  • Thread Title Format: Game Title [vVersion] [Engine] (e.g. Summer Memories [v1.0.5] [Ren'Py]).
  • Cover Image: Upload a high-resolution cover. Our system automatically optimizes all uploads to lossless WebP.
  • Required Tags: Select 1 Primary Category (e.g. Ongoing Games or Android Ports) plus applicable secondary tags (Engine: Ren'Py, Genre: Visual Novel, OS: Windows).
